? BASIC CHINESE NUMBERS AND KNOWLEDGE

Chinese people use ten Chinese characters to express basic numbers from 1 to 10 for record and counting. They are further evolved into two forms: the simplified/lowercase or so-called normal Chinese numbers like 一, 二, 三, 四, 五, 六, 七, 八, 九, 十, and the traditional/uppercase or so-called traditional Chinese numbers like 壹, 贰, 叁, 肆, 伍, 陆, 柒, 捌, 玖, 拾, which sounds correspondingly the same as normal Chinese numbers but are written more complex in Chinese.

Nowadays, normal Chinese Numbers appear and are used more frequently in Chinese people's daily life. So do the Arabic numbers and sometimes the Roman numerals in the written papers and reports. But as for the Traditional Chinese Numbers, they are usually written in banks and financial systems to record the amount and to prevent financial numbers from modifications.

Although Chinese numbers may look a little bit complicated on writings like other Chinese words you have already known, they are not difficult to learn if you get to know some numeral skills.
