What're the Golden Rooster Awards? The China Golden Rooster Awards, written as 中国金鸡奖 (zhōng guó jīn jī jiǎng), founded in 1981, Mainland China, represents the highest production and professional standards of China's film industry. It was well known as the "The Top Major Chinese Film Awards" together with Taiwan Golden Horse Awards and Hong Kong Film Awards, and also a part of the "Big Three" film festivals and top prizes of the Chinese mainland alongside the Huabiao Film Awards and Hundred Flowers Awards.

Unlike the other prizes, the Chinese Golden Rooster Awards are the top film prizes distributed by the industry professionals.
